Middle school and high school students will be traveling to the Henderson Settlement and serving the community of Frakes, KY. During this week-long mission trip, middle school students will work alongside Henderson Settlement staff at their food pantry, baby pantry, thrift store, greenhouse, and summer recreation program or with children in the community. High school students will be working in the community on home repair projects, like flooring, roofing, drywalling, and other repair projects.
Students will learn about Appalachia and the needs that exist in the community of Frakes, KY.
This is a great opportunity for young people to put their faith into action and unlock new skills.
The cost per Middle or High School participant is $300. A $100 deposit will be collected at registration and the remaining $200 is due by Monday, July 7. Financial aid is available, please contact Rev. Rachael Dunlap for details at rdunlap@fumcbirmingham.org.
